Jessica M. Ewert is an associate in the Orange County, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in a wide array of employment-related disputes, including single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and whistleblower claims, as well as representative wage and hour litigation and class actions.

Jessica represents employers in state and federal courts, and before state and federal administrative agencies, including the California Civil Rights Department, the EEOC, and the DLSE. She has experience in all phases of litigation, from case inception through arbitration, including dispositive motions and appeals. Jessica also has experience litigating as a plaintiff’s attorney, representing individual clients in a variety of employment-related matters. Jessica’s dual perspective on the risks of civil litigation provides her with valuable insight when developing case strategies for clients. 

During law school, where she emphasized in Business Law, Jessica served as the co-chair of the Diversity and Social Justice Journal. Jessica also was a merit scholar and earned three CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Torts, Wills and Trusts, and Real Estate Transactions. She also externed for The Honorable Erithe A. Smith at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California. Jessica was also a contributing drafter and editor for a business law textbook scheduled for national release by Wolters Kluwer Law & Business. 

Prior to beginning her legal career, Jessica was a member of the Live2Free team at Vanguard University, where she traveled to various high schools giving lectures on the issue of modern-day slavery. Jessica also interned for the Community Service Programs, Inc. Victim/Witness Assistance Program, providing needed services for crime victims and witnesses and encouraging their cooperation in the investigation of the case and prosecution of the offender.
