Joann F. Sexton is an associate in the Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.

Before entering private practice, Joann served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Bruce J. Kaplan, Presiding Judge of the Civil Division and Multicounty Litigation Judge, Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex Vicinage. While in law school, she served on the Executive Board of the Labor and Employment Law Forum and as a member of the Jessup International Moot Court Team. She also completed several in-house legal internships with large corporate entities and represented clients as a student attorney in Seton Hall Law’s Health Justice Clinic.

Prior to law school, Joann pursued a career in human resources, concentrating on workplace employment issues, organizational development, and cross-functional risk management. This background provided her with practical insight into the intersection of employment law and business operations—perspective that continues to inform her legal practice today.
