John J. DeRoss, Jr.
John J. DeRoss Jr. is an associate in the Indianapolis, Indiana, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. John is committed to helping employers navigate the often complex, and ever-changing landscape of labor and employment law. He excels at developing practical and efficient solutions designed to address each client's unique goals and needs.
John partners directly with employers to minimize the risk of litigation by providing counseling and training on legal compliance, preventative practices, and workplace investigations. When disputes cannot be avoided, John utilizes his experience as litigator and judge pro tempore to advocate for clients in both federal and state court, as well as administrative proceedings. His employment litigation practice encompasses a broad range of matters, including the defense of employers against Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, NLRA, FCRA, FHA, and FLSA claims, as well as cases involving wage and hour issues, covenants not to compete, employee classification, and trade secrets.
Before joining Jackson Lewis, John practiced with a leading Indianapolis law firm focused on defense litigation and served as an attorney for the Honorable Judge Michael A. Casati in Hamilton County Superior Court 1, where he was afforded the unique opportunity to oversee cases from the bench and gained a wealth of courtroom experience.
Outside the office, John enjoys playing guitar, watching Chicago Bulls basketball, and listening to Bob Dylan. Above all else, he values spending time with his wife, a fellow Indianapolis attorney, and their two young daughters.
