Joseph V. Valenza

Joseph V. Valenza is an associate in the Greenville, South Carolina, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Joe advises and represents employers in matters involving restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and the protection of confidential and proprietary business information. 

He drafts, reviews, and updates noncompetition, nonsolicitation, confidentiality, and related agreements to align with evolving law and clients’ operational needs and helps employers protect sensitive business assets and enforce post-employment obligations. 

Joe also defends employers in complex labor and employment disputes in U.S. state and federal courts and before administrative agencies, including claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, leave and accommodation issues, and wage and hour disputes. 

Drawing on his litigation experience, he counsels employers on everyday workplace issues, working closely with management, HR professionals, and in-house counsel to develop compliant policies, reduce risk, and resolve sensitive personnel matters. He has a particular interest in serving clients in the construction and real estate industries and understands the fast-paced, practical demands that shape employment decision-making in those sectors.
