Kristopher Peters is an associate in the White Plains, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Focusing primarily on business immigration, Kris helps companies obtain sponsorship for their most important asset: people.

Kris realizes that in today’s global environment identifying, hiring and retaining talent is critical to a productive and competitive workforce and legal compliance is essential. Working to understand his clients’ needs in the broader context of their business goals, Kris assists companies on a range of issues, including transferring essential personnel across  borders, hiring individuals considered among the top of their field, assisting both companies and employees navigate the various paths to green card sponsorship, and providing guidance in the day-to-day considerations associated with hiring and employing foreign talent, such as I-9 compliance, corporate restructuring, and the interplay between U.S. and foreign law. 

Kris also provides general preventive advice and counsel on various workplace law matters, ranging from claims of discrimination to compliance with current and evolving disability and accommodations laws in the workplace.

During law school, Kris served as a legal fellow for the Center for International and Comparative Law and was a member of the Jessup International Moot Court team. He also served as executive notes and comments editor for the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review, overseeing the journal’s blog publications.

Prior to law school, Kris was a recruiter focusing on identifying the best talent for his clients. Outside of work, some of his passions include fitness, travel, and healthy doses of “Schitt’s Creek” reruns.
