Lauren B. Grassotti is of counsel in the Long Island, New York office of Jackson Lewis P.C. With significant law firm and in-house experience, Lauren leverages her complex litigation expertise along with an insider’s view on business decision-making and client service expectations to guide clients to favorable outcomes, whether through litigation, negotiation or strategic counseling.

Lauren is an experienced litigator who handles complex employment matters in federal and state courts, as well private arbitrations and mediations. She focuses her practice on the litigation and resolution of  class and collective wage and hour actions involving a broad range of claims including alleged misclassification of workers’ exempt and independent contractor status, overtime pay violations, “off the clock” work, wage statement and pay frequency violations, unpaid wages, bonuses and commissions, unlawful deductions from wages and misappropriation of tips and tip credit violations. Lauren also regularly defends employers in employment related contract disputes, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims.

Lauren partners with clients to develop preventative and proactive compliance and litigation avoidance strategies. In addition to litigation, Lauren advises employers on a wide variety of matters, including wage and hour compliance, compensation and commission plans, leaves of absence, accommodations, performance management, and internal investigations.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis in 2023, Lauren was in-house employment and litigation counsel for a large e-commerce gift provider with diverse, multi-state operations. As a result, she understands the unique challenges in-house counsel face while balancing the sometimes-competing demands of facilitating business and ensuring legal compliance. Lauren also spent over a decade as an associate at the New York City office of an Am Law 25 law firm, focusing on complex commercial and business litigation, including contract disputes, securities litigation, business torts, intellectual property, corporate governance, and shareholder and partnership disputes.
