Lynell Gwaltney is of counsel in the Greenville, South Carolina, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Lynell partners with employers to identify workplace risks early and resolve them efficiently, offering practical guidance grounded in years of experience evaluating employment disputes from the decision-maker’s side of the table.
Lynell conducts and advises on workplace investigations, guides employers through reductions in force, and counsels clients on leaves of absence, accommodations, and background check compliance. Lynell advises on drafting employee handbooks, administering corrective action, and adopting employment practices designed to reduce the risk of discrimination claims.
Before joining Jackson Lewis, Lynell practiced with a national labor and employment firm, served as a Senior Administrative Hearing Officer in the Appeals Division of the Legal Department at the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, and earlier as an Appeals Examiner with the Virginia Employment Commission, where she resolved complex employment disputes. That public-sector service informs the clear advice she provides to employers today.
Lynell holds a certification from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations and prior certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
