Maryam Shokry is an associate in the Greenville, South Carolina, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Seeing herself as an extension of her client’s business team, Maryam partners with employers to resolve workplace law disputes through practical, goal-oriented strategies and proactive risk management. Always attuned to the latest news and regulatory changes impacting technology in the workplace, Maryam constantly tailors her approach and legal strategies to adapt to the demands of each client’s specific industry and needs.

Maryam collaborates with employers to mitigate legal risks and develop policies aligned with long-term business objectives. As a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Maryam counsels organizations on workplace best practices for safeguarding sensitive information and navigating an evolving digital landscape. Maryam’s practice expands beyond data security to also encompass policy drafting and advising on regulatory compliance with workplace laws to mitigate risk in day-to-day operations. This includes conducting internal investigations and, if necessary, defending companies in disputes involving claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

During law school, Maryam served as a student attorney with the University of Georgia’s First Amendment Clinic and clerked for the Honorable Judge Lisa Lott in the Superior Court of the Western Judicial Circuit.
