Sarah M. Rain is of counsel in the Indianapolis, Indiana and Detroit, Michigan, offices of Jackson Lewis P.C. and represents employers in traditional labor matters, including union avoidance, contract administration and negotiation, and unfair labor practice charges.

Sarah has practiced traditional labor law, having sat on all sides of the bargaining table, getting her start in law school clerking for the Michigan Employment Relations Commission. Upon graduation, she worked for a national labor union, representing employees working at several private non-profit organizations. For the past decade, Sarah has represented employers in all facets of union relations, including partnering with non-union employers to remain union-free and assisting union employers with existing relationships.

To be an effective labor lawyer, Sarah strives to become an extension of a client’s internal team, partnering with them to understand their relationships with both employees and their unions. In doing so, Sarah seeks to guide clients on the appropriate response to situations as they arise. Sarah is equally experienced in litigating matters before the National Labor Relations Board and state agencies in response to unfair labor practice charges and defending employers at arbitration.
