The revelations about Harvey Weinstein and the #metoo movement have placed workplace sexual harassment in the spotlight like never before. With employees new found willingness to speak up come additional challenges for employers in their handling of harassment complaints, where their response may be subject to scrutiny, both internally and externally, and potentially played out over social media or the courts.

Our webinars aim to help transatlantic employers understand the respective UK and US legal frameworks. The first webinar on Wednesday, May 16, at 13.00 BST is aimed at UK human resources professionals or in-house legal with responsibility for US based employees and will cover:

  • Current litigation trends including filings with the Equal Opportunity Commission;
  • The impact of the media and the renewal of “litigating in the press”;
  • The status of arbitration and how the Supreme Court ruling may impact on litigating discrimination claims;
  • Proactive steps US employers should take;
  • The role of human resources and the importance of investigations;
  • The gender pay gap and the status of the proposed federal regulations.
