This session will discuss the development of an internal investigative plan after receiving an employee complaint, including evaluating who to select as the investigator; identifying key issues, witnesses, and documents; as well as preserving electronically stored information and other evidence. The presenters will discuss strategies to effectively implement the investigative plan and provide techniques for interviewing the complainant, respondent and other witnesses in order to analyze the evidence and reach an objective conclusion. The program will also offer tips on preparing and maintaining a reliable record of the investigation for any potential future litigation.
