Christopher M. Repole Named to “40 Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40”

NEW YORK, NY (August 25, 2023) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Christopher M. Repole has been selected as one of the 40 Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40 by the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association. The award is given to legal professionals whose commitment to equality has made a positive impact on the LGBTQ+ community. Chris was recognized at the 2023 Lavender Law® Conference and Career Fair in Chicago in July 2023.

“Chris’ talents extend far beyond his first-class legal work often in high-stakes matters,” said New York City Office Managing Principal Douglas J. Klein. “He is deeply committed to mentorship, a gifted public speaker and possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills. I am fortunate enough to have witnessed Chris’ professional growth over the years from a junior attorney to a leader in our office today. Chris is clearly committed to promoting an inclusive culture for all and is beyond deserving of this honor.”

Chris is a principal in the firm’s New York City office where his practice focuses on traditional labor law. He provides practical, solution-oriented advice to clients, keeping sight of long-term business goals. Chris advises clients in a variety of industries on the development and implementation of preventive labor relations programs. For clients facing union organizing, Chris helps navigate the thorny legal and interpersonal issues at play. He orchestrates comprehensive corporate campaigns and defends clients in National Labor Relations Board representation proceedings. For unionized employers, Chris leads collective bargaining agreement negotiations and advises on the daily administration of labor agreements. He has successfully defended employers in complex labor disputes before arbitrators, in federal and state courts, and before the National Labor Relations Board.

Chris also advises employers on a wide range of sensitive personnel matters, including reductions in force, performance management, and the negotiation of employment and separation agreements. Clients seek Chris’ advice on the legality of workplace policies and handbooks, and Chris regularly conducts management training on a wide array of labor and employment issues, including employment discrimination, diversity, sexual harassment and LGBTQ+ issues. He routinely represents companies before federal, state and local agencies in a variety of employment matters.

In addition to his work counseling employers, Chris presents and publishes articles on a variety of labor and employment topics, with a particular emphasis on issues involving LGBTQ+ employees. Chris has been a featured speaker at the Out & Equal Workplace Conference, one of the country’s preeminent workplace conferences, and on episodes of the firm’s podcast, covering crucial issues such as the U.S. Supreme Court’s application of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to LGBTQ-based discrimination in its Bostock decision.

Chris serves as co-leader of Jackson Lewis’ Out Professionals and Allies in Law (OPAL) attorney resource group. A true display of his leadership capabilities in this role, Chris has served as a mentor to LGBTQ+ associates by partnering on client development and networking opportunities.  He is a member of the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association, where he previously served as the LGBTQ+ Rights Committee Secretary. Chris’ dedication to these organizations helped secure Jackson Lewis’ sponsorship of the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association’s Annual Conference & Career Fair, highlighting the firm’s commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ matters.

“It is humbling to be recognized among so many other inspiring honorees,” said Chris. “Jackson Lewis has shown me a great deal of support and provided me with the opportunity to take on cases that further champion equality. I am proud to be a part of a team that values authenticity and allows me to bring my whole self to work each day.”
