NEW YORK (August 18, 2026) — National employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Mary T. Costigan has been named co-leader of L&E Global’sData Protection & AI Group.
L&E Global is an international alliance of employers’ counsel firms advising organizations on employment matters across jurisdictions. Jackson Lewis is a founding member of the alliance, which includes 33 member firms and more than 2,000 legal professionals across six continents.
L&E Global’s Data Protection & AI Group focuses on workplace issues including employee data privacy, workplace monitoring, AI tools used in recruitment and human resources, automated decision-making and human oversight, cross-border data transfers and data breach response.
“Mary brings a strong understanding of the complex data privacy and cybersecurity issues employers face as workplace technology continues to evolve,” said John L. Mary is a principal in Jackson Lewis’ Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, office where she advises clients across various industries on privacy and cybersecurity laws, data protection best practices and AI governance. She regularly handles matters related to employee and consumer privacy, biometric data, artificial intelligence, EU data protection requirements and cross-border data transfers. With her extensive experience as a breach coach, Mary provides strategic counsel on cybersecurity incidents and related regulatory inquiries.

Mary holds Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) credentials from the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She is a member of the IAPP Women Leading Privacy Advisory Board and serves as co-chair of the National Association of Women Lawyers Privacy and Cybersecurity affinity group. Her work has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® in the “Employment Law – Management” and “Privacy and Data Security Law” categories, as well as with a Lexology Client Choice Award.
Mary earned her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and her B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross.
