NEW YORK, NY (July 13, 2023) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce its certification as a Gold Standard Firm by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) for the 12th consecutive year. The WILEF Gold Standard Certification is awarded to firms who have successfully demonstrated that women represent a meaningful percentage of their equity partners, of their highest leadership positions, of their governance and compensation committees, of their most highly compensated partners and that there be meaningful diversity among their women partners.
“Diversity, equity and inclusion are core firm values that have been embraced by our firm’s leadership for many years,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “We are proud to be recognized by WILEF once again and believe the achievement of women within our firm has always been a key to our growth and success. At Jackson Lewis, we look forward to continuing to provide women attorneys with opportunities and policies that allow their advancement, promotion and success to develop as leaders within the legal profession.”
To achieve WILEF Gold Standard Certification, law firms with 300 or more practicing attorneys in the U.S. must meet objective criteria concerning the number of women among equity partners, in firm leadership positions and in the ranks of their most highly compensated partners.
“We are proud to be recognized by WILEF for our dedication to supporting the progression of women in the firm,” said Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer and Principal Kimya S.P. Johnson. “A component of our DEI Strategic Action Plan works to increase the gender balance of our partnership and management team. We look forward to continuing the support of career advancement opportunities, and our efforts in this area will ensure equity and that all lawyers succeed.”
Jackson Lewis was recently named a “Best Law Firm for Women and Diversity” by Seramount and is a Mansfield Certified Plus firm for having affirmatively considered women, attorneys of color, LGBTQ+ attorneys, and attorneys with disabilities for recruitment, governance roles, equity partner promotions, and inclusion in formal pitches to clients. The firm has also earned a 100 percent score on the most recent Corporate Equality Index, published by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, which measures corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.
