Sarah R. Skubas Appointed Vice Chair of American Health Law Association’s Labor and Employment Practice Group

HARTFORD, CT (June 10, 2025) — Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Sarah R. Skubas has been appointed Vice Chair of the American Health Law Association’s (AHLA) Labor and Employment Practice Group. AHLA is the nation’s largest nonpartisan educational organization focused on health law, serving more than 12,000 members across the healthcare industry. Its Labor and Employment Practice Group provides guidance, resources and thought leadership on workplace legal issues facing healthcare employers, including labor relations, employment discrimination, OSHA compliance and immigration. Sarah’s three-year term will begin on July 1, 2025.

Sarah is a principal in Jackson Lewis’ Hartford office and co-leader of the firm’s Healthcare industry group. She represents employers in all areas of employment law, including leave and disability issues, discrimination, internal investigations and workplace issues related to marijuana. Sarah also has deep experience in traditional labor matters, advising on negotiations, strikes, union relations, unfair labor practice charges and grievance arbitrations.

 

Beyond her litigation work, Sarah advises health care clients facing complex, industry-specific challenges. Employers regularly seek her guidance on significant physician employment matters, including drafting and enforcing provider agreements. She also has a strong focus on graduate medical education, advising on employment-related issues such as remediation, dismissal and grievance procedures.

Sarah earned her J.D. from the New England School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Puget Sound.
