Jackson Lewis Adds Experienced Immigration Lawyer in White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, NY (November 6, 2013)- Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the largest workplace law firms in the world representing management, is pleased to announce Marko C. Maglich has joined the firm’s Immigration Practice as Partner in the firm’s White Plains, NY office.  Mr. Maglich, who previously served as Director of White & Case’s corporate U.S. immigration law practice, has more than 10 years of workplace immigration law experience.

Over the past 15 years, Jackson Lewis’ Immigration Practice has grown from two attorneys to twenty-four, covering nine offices and offering coast-to-coast coverage with partners available in every region of the country.  The attorneys provide comprehensive, innovative, and cost-effective immigration guidance to employers, including identifying creative visa options and strategies for the global migration of critical staff and the hiring of foreign workers. Attorneys regularly train management on non-discrimination and I-9 (IRCA) employment eligibility verification best practices, defend employers in Department of Homeland Security (DHS) civil and criminal workplace investigations, provide guidance on E-Verify and Social Security no-match issues, and identify the implications of state and local immigration laws. 

Mr. Maglich has extensive experience representing clients in a wide range of immigration law matters, including nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions, I-9 counseling and training, permanent labor certifications, detention and removal defense, and family-based immigration.  He routinely counsels clients on immigration strategy and works on their behalf to obtain business-related visas, including intracompany transfers, H-1Bs, treaty-based investor and traders, exchange visitors, and special purpose business visitors.

He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® in the field of Immigration, and under his guidance the White & Case immigration practice was named a 2013 Tier 1 National “Best Law Firm” in Immigration Law in U.S. News – Best Lawyers®.  He is listed in Who’s Who Legal for Corporate Immigration.

Mr. Maglich has been a member of the International Human Rights Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.  He has worked with Human Rights First as an analyst on international human rights issues, as well as on asylum cases.  He is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has presented at various local and national AILA conferences and at the Practicing Law Institute (PLI).

Mr. Maglich is admitted to practice in New York. He received his A.B. from Sarah Lawrence College and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
