Jackson Lewis Awarded Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF)

WHITE PLAINS, NY (June 15, 2018) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce the firm has been certified as a “Gold Standard Firm” by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) for the seventh consecutive year. The WILEF Gold Standard Certification is awarded to firms who have successfully demonstrated that women represent a meaningful percentage of their equity partners, of their highest leadership positions, of their governance and compensation committees, of their most highly compensated partners and that there be meaningful diversity among their women partners.

"We are extremely proud to once again be recognized by WILEF for creating opportunities dedicated to the advancement of all women attorneys within our firm,” said Firm Chairman Vincent A. Cino. “This year marks Jackson Lewis’ 60th Anniversary, and I believe much of the firm’s continued success can be attributed to not only having best in class attorneys but also to embracing diversity of culture and ideas at every level throughout the firm.”

To achieve the WILEF Gold Standard Certification, law firms with 300 or more practicing attorneys in the U.S. must meet objective criteria concerning the number of women among equity partners, in firm leadership positions and in the ranks of their most highly compensated partners. The WILEF Certification emphasizes the leadership roles achieved by equity women partners, rather than the policies or practices of the firm or the overall number or percentage of women in the partnership.

"This is our seventh consecutive year receiving this award, and we are honored to be recognized for our inclusion efforts,” said Susan M. Corcoran, White Plains Principal and Co-Chair of the Women’s Interest Network (WIN), Jackson Lewis’ resource group committed to involving attorneys in opportunities for business development by and for women. “We will continue to remain dedicated to providing women attorneys with opportunities to grow as leaders and further their capabilities within the legal industry."

Jackson Lewis has been consistently recognized for its diversity and inclusion initiatives. The firm was recently ranked #3 in Law 360's “Best Law Firms for Women” list, based on its percentage of female attorneys both at the non-partner and partner levels. In addition, the firm’s attorneys just elected the most diverse Board of Directors in its history in terms of gender and racial representation.

"I am thrilled that our Principals have embraced the moral and ethical imperative of having diverse leadership,” added Cino. “Their votes spoke volumes about Jackson Lewis and of the character and talent of those elected to our Board."
