Jackson Lewis Continues Growth in California With New Riverside Office

NEW YORK, NY (October 19, 2021) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce the firm has opened its 62nd office in Riverside, CA. The new office marks the firm’s seventh location in the state and will be led by Principal Nicole M. Shaffer

“Despite the pandemic, California still has a fiercely competitive market and many of its regions continue to produce an ample amount of class actions and employment law matters,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri and Firm Managing Principal Samantha N. Hoffman, in a joint statement. “California’s legal work is largely driven by the technology and real estate industries, but businesses from all industries still have a substantial need for help with litigation. Our California offices have never been busier, and an additional location was needed to continue providing the first-rate service that Jackson Lewis is known for.”

Nicole Shaffer will serve as the Riverside office managing principal and litigation manager. She focuses her practice on employment litigation as well as advice and counsel on a wide array of employment law issues. Nicole has litigated single and multi-plaintiff cases, in both state and federal courts and in arbitration, as well as before state administrative agencies, on virtually all aspects of employment law. She joined Jackson Lewis in 2008 and was previously a principal in the firm’s Orange County office.

Veteran litigator Arthur K. Cunningham, who joined the firm late last year from Lewis Brisbois, will also be a resident member of the Riverside office. Art has more than 20 years of experience litigating complex matters in state and federal courts and courts of appeal. He has handled more than 35 jury trials in state and federal courts and has tried cases to verdict in the areas of civil rights and tort matters in state and federal court, wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment, grievance hearings under public agency memoranda of understanding, government entity defense, and automobile and tort defense.

Attorneys Monica H. Bullock, Kevin E. Collins and Stephanie Joy M. Tañada will round out the Riverside team.

“Our volume of work has been consistently growing and we are excited to continue building our presence throughout state,” said Nicole. “The importance of having an accomplished litigator like Art come join us in Riverside cannot be overstated. His deep understanding of complex litigation will be a tremendous asset to our clients as the demand for work increases.”
