Jackson Lewis Earns Mansfield 5.0 Plus Certification Status for 2022

NEW YORK, NY (October 21, 2022) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce the firm has achieved the highest designation of Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Certification - Plus status - for the third consecutive year after completing the 12-month Mansfield Rule 5.0 certification program.

“We are proud to once again earn ‘Plus’ status, as a measure of our intentional efforts to ensure diverse representation and leadership at Jackson Lewis,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “The Mansfield 5.0 Plus recognition is the result of our active commitment to the highest standards of inclusivity in the workplace.”

The Mansfield Rule was established to prioritize the representation of diverse lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these opportunities. Jackson Lewis has successfully earned Mansfield certification for considering and reaching at least 30 percent women, lawyers of color, and LGBTQ+ lawyers for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions. The “Plus” status recognizes that, in addition to meeting Certification requirements, the firm has exceeded the baseline certification requirements of successfully reaching at least 30 percent diverse lawyer representation in a notable number of current leadership roles.

“As we regularly advise clients on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) matters, we have a responsibility to maintain high standards and to progress in our DEI efforts,” said Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer and Principal Kimya S.P. Johnson. “The Mansfield 5.0 Certification process has helped the firm embrace organizational best practices that ensure continued accountability and transparency for our DEI work.”

“Earning the Mansfield 5.0 Plus Certification status is yet another affirmation of our intentional and strategic efforts—and commitment to DEI as a firm pillar,” added Kimya. “We are proud of how far we have come in terms of increasing representation, inclusion and equity, and we welcome the forward movement that participating in the Mansfield Certification process provides.”
