Jackson Lewis Earns Perfect Score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation's 2022 Scorecard Measuring LGBTQ+ Workplace Equality

NEW YORK, NY (January 27, 2022) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce that the firm received a 100 percent score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s premier benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.

“We are proud to once again receive a 100 percent score for our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “Our LGBTQ+ initiatives continue to grow, and we look forward to what the future has in store."

The results of this year’s CEI showcase how companies based in the U.S. are not only promoting LGBTQ+ -friendly workplace policies but also helping advance the cause of LGBTQ+ inclusion in workplaces abroad. The CEI rates companies and top law firms on criteria falling under four central pillars including workforce protections, inclusive benefits, supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility, and responsible citizenship.

"Earning a perfect score in this year’s Corporate Equality Index affirms how hard we are working to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion remain a priority at Jackson Lewis,” said Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer Kimya S.P. Johnson, who recently joined the Jackson Lewis team. “The firm’s leadership knows the work does not stop here, and I look forward to working with the rest of the executive team in the coming months to make further strides.”

Launched in 2002, the HRC Foundation's Corporate Equality Index has become a roadmap and benchmarking tool for U.S. businesses in the evolving field of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer equality in the workplace. The HRC Foundation is committed to keeping the criteria for the CEI rigorous, fair and transparent by identifying emerging best practices that improve the experiences of LGBTQ employees of participating businesses. Equally important, they are committed to providing the resources and consultation that enable each business to attain a 100 percent rating.
