Jackson Lewis Joins More Than 250 CEOs in Unprecedented Commitment to Advance Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace

WHITE PLAINS, NY (July 25, 2017) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce the firm has joined the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ pledge. By joining the growing coalition, Jackson Lewis pledges to cultivate a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected and where employees feel encouraged to discuss diversity and inclusion. The collective of more than 250 signatories have already shared nearly 200 best known actions, exchanging tangible learning opportunities and creating collaborative conversations via the initiative’s unified hub, CEOAction.com.

“Coming together with many successful CEO’s and business leaders for the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ pledge creates a unique platform to exchange ideas and address challenges,” said Firm Chairman Vincent A. Cino. “By signing this pledge, I am committing myself and Jackson Lewis to continue to cultivate a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected, and where employees feel encouraged to discuss problems and suggestions in an open forum. We will continue to strive daily to cultivate an environment of dialogue and action that will empower our staff members and provide each person with an equal opportunity to succeed and achieve their full potential.”

“We are living in a world of complex divisions and tensions that can have a significant impact on our work environment. Yet, it’s often the case that when we walk into our workplace – where we spend the majority of our time – we don’t openly address these topics,” said Tim Ryan, U.S. Chairman and Senior Partner of PwC and chair of the steering committee for the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion. “CEOs across the country understand this isn’t a competitive issue, but a societal issue, and together we can raise the bar for the entire business community. By sharing best known actions and programs, we are helping to create a more inclusive environment that will encourage all of us to bring our greatest talents, perspectives, and experiences to the workplace.”

The CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion coalition will come together to form the first-ever 2017 CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ Summit in November. It will be an opportunity for the signatories to act on the commitments within the pledge, share best known actions, and look toward developing additional commitments for advancing diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
