Jackson Lewis Receives Tipping the Scales Award for Commitment to Advancing Women

NEW YORK, NY (November 6, 2020) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce the firm has been honored with the Tipping the Scales Award as part of the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s 2020 New Partner Report. The firm was recently recognized at the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s virtual Annual Conference for having 50 percent or more women attorneys in its 2020 partner class. This is the second consecutive year the firm has won the law firm diversity award.

The Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s 2020 Partner Report is a yearly compilation and examination of data from more than 100 of the nation’s largest and top-grossing law firms about the attorneys promoted to partnership in U.S. offices. The Alliance has generated this report since 2012, and the report aims to uncover trends related to the percentages of women promoted to partnership each year. 

Jackson Lewis is a “Leader” member of the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance, joining a community of industry leaders who are implementing innovative solutions to promote inclusive and flexible work cultures. As a dedicated member of the Alliance, the firm commits to advancing thought leadership and inclusive work environments through enhanced diversity and inclusion initiatives. The Alliance partners with its members to implement organizational solutions and individual strategies that push diversity and inclusion initiatives to the forefront, integrates more women into leadership roles. 

In addition to earning the Tipping the Scales Award, the firm recently achieved Mansfield Certification Plus by affirmatively considering at least 30 percent women, lawyers of color, and LGBTQ+ lawyers for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions. The goal of the Mansfield Rule 3.0 certification program is to boost the representation of diverse lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these opportunities.
