The growing prevalence of the employed physician model has brought hospitals increased exposure to employment related lawsuits. This program offers strategies for managing this risk through collaboration between human resources and medical staff leaders.

As hospitals and health systems continue to expand their ranks of employed physicians, it is important that they understand the legal implications of the employed physician model. This program will offer attendees the opportunity to:

  • Hear case studies about senior leaders who have transformed their culture in order to avoid pitfalls and maintain positive relationships with physicians.
  • Identify workplace law and human resources issues involving employed physicians.
  • Learn how collaboration between human resources and medical staff leaders can help you better meet the needs of your physician workforce.
  • Review strategies for coordinating the involvement of the human resources department and medical staff office in physician employment issues, such as disruptive physician behavior and requests for reasonable accommodation.
