Nancy A. Johnson
Nancy Johnson is of counsel in the Orlando, Florida, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Nancy advises and defends employers on complex workplace matters, delivering practical, business-driven solutions that help organizations manage risk, adapt to change, and prevent disputes.
Nancy approaches her work as an extension of her clients’ leadership teams, working closely with decision makers to address day-to-day workplace issues and high-stakes disputes alike. Her experience spans whistleblower claims, discrimination and harassment allegations, leave and accommodation matters, wage and hour disputes, and workforce reductions. A seasoned litigator, Nancy has served as first-chair trial counsel and has participated in numerous jury trials, securing defense verdicts in wage-and-hour, harassment, and unfair-competition cases, including a notable jury finding of fraud in connection with alleged FLSA violations.
In addition to her litigation practice, Nancy advises employers on protecting critical business interests. She regularly evaluates, advises on and, if necessary, litigates matters involving restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and non‑compete agreements, and works with clients to develop and execute enforcement strategies tailored to their operational and competitive needs. Her approach emphasizes decisive, creative resolutions - whether through litigation or negotiated outcomes - that safeguard proprietary information and workforce stability.
Nancy also has significant experience in managing employer investigations initiated by federal and state agencies and in advising on, overseeing, and conducting sensitive internal investigations, including matters involving alleged executive and C‑suite misconduct. Her employment law practice is further informed by experience in related corporate and regulatory matters, including bankruptcies and qui tam actions involving Medicaid and Medicare fraud, providing clients with a broader perspective on risk and exposure.
Outside her legal practice, Nancy is deeply committed to community service and advocacy. She has been actively involved in juvenile justice initiatives, helped establish a student rape crisis center and hotline at Grinnell College, supported survivors in domestic violence matters, and mentored children through literacy and youth development programs. In recognition of her longstanding service, Northeast Florida United Way honored Nancy as a Stein Fellow.
