Alyssa Heusinger
Alyssa Heusinger is an associate in the Omaha, Nebraska, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Alyssa represents employers in workplace law matters and enjoys collaborating with her clients to find practical solutions to the variety of issues that arise in the workplace.
After a decade-long career in Human Resource, Alyssa joined the firm’s Litigation practice group. She represents employers in various employment and labor matters, including claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation brought under Title VII and the ADA. She also assists in transactional and consulting needs, ranging from Handbook reviews to FLSA audits to employee relations concerns.
Alyssa focuses a significant portion of her practice on representing and providing advice and counsel to various sized organizations throughout different growth phases. She has first-hand experience working through start-ups, high-growth organizations, and acquisitions. As a result, she both understands the unique legal issues that Human Resource professionals and business leaders face and has experience in partnering with clients to work through those issues.
While attending the University of Nebraska College of Law, Alyssa served as a judicial intern for the Honorable L. Steven Grasz at the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit as well as John M. Gerrard at the United States District Court, District of Nebraska. She also served as Executive Editor for the Nebraska Law Review and student attorney for the Housing Justice Clinic. She received the Schmid Honor Scholarship in recognition of her academic excellence. Before attending law school, Alyssa worked in a variety of Human Resource functions, growing from Human Resource Coordinator to Business Partner to Director of Human Resources in industries spanning hospitality to technology. While working in that capacity, Alyssa obtained her SHRM – Senior Certified Professional certification and Masters of Business Administration degree.
