Andrew D. Welker is an associate in the Chicago, Illinois, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He represents clients ranging from closely held businesses to publicly traded companies and nonprofits in a variety of employment-related lawsuits and administrative actions around the country.  

Andrew concentrates his practice on defending employers against class and collective action lawsuits arising under federal and state employment law, as well as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). He routinely represents employers in disputes involving employee misclassification, discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, privacy, and retaliation. He also routinely advises management prior to litigation on issues related to employees and the workplace and BIPA compliance.

Andrew has significant experience litigating claims arising under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.  

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Andrew worked at another prominent national labor and employment firm.  

Andrew brings a unique perspective to defense teams as a seasoned class action defense attorney and former class action plaintiff attorney. His experience on both sides of the aisle in complex class actions gives him with the ability to see all sides of a case and anticipate and defeat plaintiffs’ counsel’s strategies to help achieve the best possible results for his clients.
