Barbara L. Harris Chiang
Barbara L. Harris Chiang is a principal in the San Francisco, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She advises and represents employers in a wide range of workplace matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, class and PAGA actions, disability accommodation, leaves of absence, workforce reductions, and obtaining workplace violence restraining orders.
With more than two decades of experience, Barbara defends employers in state and federal courts, arbitration proceedings, and administrative agency matters. She also counsels employers on employment policies, handbooks, wage and hour compliance, employee relations, workplace investigations, and risk management strategies designed to help organizations navigate evolving employment laws.
Before joining Jackson Lewis, Barbara was a partner at employment law firms in California, where she focused her practice on employment litigation and preventive counseling. She has represented employers before agencies including the EEOC, DFEH, and DLSE and has advised organizations on Equal Pay Act compliance and workplace best practices.
Barbara is a frequent speaker on employment law developments and has held leadership roles in several professional organizations, including the National Conference of Women's Bar Associations and Queen's Bench.
She earned her law degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Missouri State University.
