John S. Gilliam
John S. Gilliam is of counsel in the Detroit, Michigan, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. As a career litigator, his practice is primarily focused on representing employers faced with all types of employment litigation, administrative charges, and internal complaints relating to state and federal statutes.
John has represented municipalities, private sector employers, and their insurance providers on various employment-related issues in state and federal courts and administrative actions concerning discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, wage and hour, and restrictive covenants, including single and multi-plaintiff cases, as well as collective and class actions. His practice also includes providing preventive advice and counseling of employers in workplace law matters, as well as representing employers in labor negotiations, disputes, and arbitrations.
John enjoys developing relationships with clients and is motivated in gaining their confidence as a trusted advisor. He takes pride in practicing law with a high standard of personal conduct, which he champions as a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Special Committee on Professionalism and Civility.
