Kenneth M. Bledsoe is an associate in the Washington, D.C. Region, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. A former Foreign Service Officer, who has advised U.S. government leaders and led negotiations with foreign nations, Kenny understands that achieving employers’ business objectives while maintaining legal compliance requires a perpetual and vigilant combination of decisiveness, subject matter experience and adaptability.

Leveraging his prior professional work in his current practice, Kenny unites strong advocacy with the foresight necessary to plan a several-steps-ahead strategy.  Having advised employers in complex employment scenarios domestically and internationally in some of the world’s most challenging environments, Kenny understands that every organization develops its own workplace culture and dynamics and solutions must be both tailored and practical. Kenny is a member of the International Employment Law practice group. He handles sensitive workplace investigations and litigates cases of employment discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and reasonable accommodations.

Before entering private practice, Kenny’s career in workplace law was long and varied. While serving as a Foreign Service Officer stationed in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, he provided advice and counsel to senior U.S. government leaders on managing a multicultural, multilingual workforce that included employees and contractors. He also led negotiations with the Congolese and other foreign governments on international treaties and agreements. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Kenny spent several years successfully defending the U.S. Government against employment litigation claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, reasonable accommodations, labor disputes, and everything in between. He has also gained insight and experience representing plaintiffs in employment cases which he uses when defending employers to identify priorities and viewpoints that generate disputes—and resolve them more efficiently.

A lifelong musician, Kenny understands that law, like music, is a defined framework of rules and relationships that allows those who understand it the capacity for extensive creativity and interpretation. Whether litigating a case or composing a melody, Kenny finds inspiration in the interplay of structure and innovation, always seeking to find the right ideas and themes to bring the matter to a satisfactory resolution.
