Rachel L. Gardner is an associate in the Kansas City, Missouri, and Overland Park, Kansas offices of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.
Rachel's interest in employment law began during her first semester of law school, when her Legal Research and Writing course required her to draft an office memorandum addressing an issue under the Americans with Disability Act. The assignment involved analyzing whether a pharmacy's refusal to serve a customer in a wheelchair through its drive-through constituted unlawful discrimination. Examining the real-world impact of the ADA and the importance of legal compliance sparked Rachel's interest in employment law and its practical application in the workplace. Rachel received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for her memorandum.
After graduating from Mizzou Law in 2025 and prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Rachel's practice primarily focused on insurance defense and commercial litigation matters.
