America’s grocers, pharmacies, big box and other retailers are leading the way in finding new ways to work in light of COVID-19. Closed storefronts and over one million retail workers furloughed required dramatic changes to how retailers ensured people had essential goods as they stayed home to protect their communities. The complex challenges with respect to hiring and retaining talent in an environment marked by high turnover have been augmented by the need to reopen and safely bring employees and consumers back.

We offer an interdisciplinary approach to meet all the workplace law needs of its retail industry clients. In addition to representing retail employers ranging from local and regional companies to multinational retailers with operations throughout the U.S., we provide legal counsel to industry-related organizations. This experience — in conjunction with the insight provided by Jackson Lewis attorneys who formerly served as in-house counsel at major U.S. retail companies — has allowed us to develop a deep understanding of the industry.

We help retailers keep the health and safety of employees and consumers front and center, ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, monitor safety issues and manage family and medical leave.   • Reviewing wage and hour policies and practices for compliance with state and federal laws;
