Jackson Lewis Principals Stephanie L. Adler-Paindiris and Stephanie E. Satterfield Receive Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing

NEW YORK, NY (April 5, 2023) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Principals Stephanie L. Adler Paindiris and Stephanie E. Satterfield have been selected by the Burton Awards as recipients of the “2023 Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Awards” for their article, “Judge Jackson's Employment Rulings Embody Pragmatism,” which appeared last year in Law360.

The Burton Awards is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit program run in association with the Library of Congress, presented by lead sponsor Law360, and co-sponsored by the American Bar Association. Winners are chosen from articles submitted from the nation's 1,000 largest law firms. The top 25 articles are selected by judges and law school professors, including professors from Harvard Law School, Georgetown Law Center, and UC Berkeley Law School. The Burton Awards were established to honor the finest accomplishments in law, including writing, reform, public service and interest, regulatory innovation and lifetime achievements in the profession.

Stephanie L. Adler-Paindiris is a principal in the firm’s Orlando, Florida office. She is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and serves as co-leader of the firm's Litigation group. Admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court and federal courts throughout the country, Stephanie defends class and collective actions on behalf of employers and provides legal advice and counsel to help her clients navigate today’s legal and business workplace challenges. She has represented clients in more than a dozen trials before juries and judges in state and federal courts and has appeared before administrative juries and agencies. Stephanie participates in arbitrations and administrative hearings before the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings as well as AAA and FINRA. She earned her J.D. from Yeshiva University Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and her B.S. from Syracuse University.

Stephanie E. Satterfield is a principal in the firm’s Greenville, South Carolina, office and the managing principal of the Charlotte, North Carolina office. She also serves on the firm’s Board of Directors and is co-leader of the Litigation group. Stephanie represents employers in employment litigation and advises businesses on practices and policies to foster employee engagement and avoid litigation. She has handled all aspects of employment law but focuses on pay equity, sexual harassment training, investigations and litigation, reductions in force, and multi-state compliance for Fortune 500 companies in the retail, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical industries. She earned her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law and her B.A. from North Carolina State University.

Stephanie and Stephanie will be honored at a ceremony celebrating the 24th anniversary of the Burton Awards at the National Portrait Gallery on June 12, 2023.
