Jackson Lewis Earns Mansfield Certification Plus Status for 2021

NEW YORK, NY (September 13, 2021) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce the firm has achieved the highest designation of Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Certification Plus for the second year in a row after completing the 12-month Mansfield Rule 4.0 certification program.

“Participating in the Mansfield Certification process is an important initiative for Jackson Lewis, and we are proud to once again earn ‘Plus’ status,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “We believe that taking an inclusive and transparent approach on who we consider for current and future leadership positions at the firm will ensure that we are inviting and considering the broadest field of talent possible as we look to the next generation of firm leaders.”

The goal of the Mansfield Rule is to boost the representation of diverse lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these opportunities. Jackson Lewis has successfully earned Mansfield certification status for the past two consecutive years, for considering and reaching at least 30 percent women, lawyers of color, and LGBTQ+ lawyers for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions. The "Plus" status recognizes that, in addition to meeting Certification requirements, the firm has exceeded the baseline certification requirements of successfully reaching at least 30 percent diverse lawyer representation in a notable number of current leadership roles.

“Our participation in the Mansfield Rule certification process has demonstrated measurable improvement for recruiting, retaining and promoting diverse attorneys, said Tanya A. Bovée, Managing Principal of the firm’s Hartford, CT office and member of the firm’s Board of Directors where she serves as DEI Liaison. “The continuous measurement of data allows us to remain transparent and accountable as we continue to build a diverse and inclusive workforce.”
