Jackson Lewis Names Benjamin D. Sharkey Jacksonville Office Managing Principal

JACKSONVILLE, FL (May 24, 2021) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Benjamin D. Sharkey has been elevated to office managing principal in Jacksonville. Ben succeeds Richard Margulies, who is choosing to step down to focus on his clients and practice.

“Ben and Richard opened our Jacksonville office together in 2008 and have been instrumental in our growth in that region,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “Ben is an experienced attorney and a proven leader, and we are confident he will do an excellent job leading the office.”

Ben has more than 20 years of experience representing management in all facets of employment litigation. He also has extensive experience litigating wage-hour class and collective action cases, and non-competition agreements and trade secrets disputes.

Ben routinely functions as the employment legal department for clients of all sizes. A significant portion of his practice is devoted to partnering with clients on daily advice and counsel concerning multi-state workplace issues and best practices. He also provides training to managers and supervisors in all areas of employment law, including sexual and racial harassment prevention, disciplinary practice, documentation policies, and disability management.

“I am excited to assume the role of Office Managing Principal and lead the team of talented attorneys in Jacksonville,” said Ben. “The Jacksonville team was fortunate to have benefitted from Richard’s leadership, and I look forward to creating new opportunities for the office, both locally and on a national level.”
