Jackson Lewis Names Carolyn G. Burnette Sacramento Office Managing Principal

SACRAMENTO, CA (October 10, 2022) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Carolyn G. Burnette has been elevated to office managing principal in Sacramento. Carolyn succeeds Michael Christian, who is stepping down to focus on his growing practice.

“Carolyn was the natural choice to step up to this leadership position,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “She possesses great skill as an attorney and as a leader, and we are excited for her to take the helm and continue to expand our Sacramento footprint.”

Carolyn has more than 20 years of litigation and investigation experience, having spent most of her legal career with the firm. She serves as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and privately mediates as well. Her robust advice, counsel practice, and extensive business background are valued by clients across industries. Carolyn also serves as a Judge Pro Tem for Sacramento County Superior Court.

In 2015, Carolyn was selected by AAA to be a Leon Higginbotham Fellow – a program that looks to ensure the future excellence of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Fellows are chosen for their exceptional work and commitment to becoming mediation and arbitration leaders. She was more recently recognized by Best Lawyers as Sacramento’s 2023 Lawyer of the Year for Employment Law, Management.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to build upon the solid foundation that exists in our Sacramento office,” said Carolyn. “I am excited to continue to expand the office with a focus on our key practice areas and industries.”

Carolyn earned her J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law and her B.S. from San Francisco State University.
