Juan Felipe Santos Honored with 2018 HNBA Top Lawyers Under 40 Award

SAN JUAN, PR (February 28, 2018) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce San Juan Managing Principal and Litigation Manager Juan Felipe Santos has been selected to receive the prestigious “HNBA Top Lawyers Under 40” Award. The award, which is presented by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), honors accomplished lawyers who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community, and dedication to improving the legal profession.

"Juan is a dedicated attorney who has strong ties to his local community,” said Firm Chairman Vincent A. Cino. “Juan has taken a special interest in mentoring students from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and introducing them to our firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, including the Jackson Lewis Scholarship Program. It is inspiring to see a high-performing attorney who is doing great work in the legal space while also motivating young adults and cultivating meaningful relationships with students who are often underrepresented in the legal community."

Mr. Santos represents employers in litigation before federal and Puerto Rico courts, including jury trials through all phases and types of federal and local labor and employment lawsuits and administrative matters. He also provides legal advice to management on human resources compliance issues and policy matters spanning the entire employment life cycle, from the hiring, discipline and termination of employees, including drafting of employment manuals and policies and the development of strategies for effective liability mitigation. In addition, Mr. Santos has experience providing legal advice to companies establishing operations in Puerto Rico and conducting due diligence employment law audits.

"I am honored to be named a Top Lawyer Under 40 by the HNBA,” said Mr. Santos. “I would like to thank the HNBA Awards Committee and also congratulate the other attorneys selected to receive this prestigious honor. Supporting students wishing to pursue a career in law has always been important to me, as they are our future leaders and role models in the legal community.”

Mr. Santos received his J.D. from University of Puerto Rico School of Law and his B.S. from Cornell University.
