Monica H. Khetarpal Honored on the 2019 "40 Under Forty" List by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer

CHICAGO, IL (October 3, 2019) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Principal Monica H. Khetarpal has been recognized on the 2019 “40 Under Forty” list presented by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer. The list recognizes up-and-coming attorneys across Chicago and the state of Illinois. These individuals are nominated by their peers and chosen by the publication’s selection committee for their intelligence, passion, success and work in the community.

Ms. Khetarpal is a Principal in the Chicago office of Jackson Lewis. Her litigation experience includes defending clients against claims of discrimination, harassment, wage and hour violations, FMLA violations, disability discrimination and requests for accommodation in both single plaintiff and class action matters. She regularly handles matters at all levels, from administrative agencies to appeals in both state and federal courts.

Ms. Khetarpal focuses a significant portion of her practice on representing higher education clients and serves as a Co-Leader of the firm’s Higher Education Industry Group, which currently serves more than 300 schools and assists them with issues ranging from sexual misconduct matters to tenure disputes. Her experience with higher education also includes providing advice and counsel regarding high profile faculty and student matters, revising strategic policies and procedures, and conducting internal investigations. She also has expertise in managing the student, faculty and media issues unique to the higher education setting.

Ms. Khetarpal devotes a significant amount of time to encouraging diversity within the legal profession. She is a Co-Chair of Jackson Lewis’ Asian American Attorney Resource Group and serves as the diversity liaison for the firm’s Chicago office, has served on the Board of the South Asian Bar Association of Chicago and has served on the Diversity Scholarship Foundation’s Unity Dinner planning committee in 2014 and 2015. Ms. Khetarpal was recently awarded the “Advocate for Diversity Award” by the Diversity Scholarship Foundation.
