Jackson Lewis Bolsters San Francisco Presence with Addition of Litigator Theresa Mak

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 10, 2017) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce esteemed employment attorney Theresa Mak has joined the firm’s San Francisco office as a Principal. Ms. Mak, who has more than 15 years of experience litigating a broad range of employment law matters, joins the firm from Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

“Theresa has a strong reputation throughout the San Francisco area business and legal communities,” said San Francisco Office Managing Principal Frasier McAlpine. “She is an outstanding litigator who has successfully represented well-known companies in the retail, financial services, restaurant, technology and gig economy industries. Ms. Mak focuses her experience on counseling and defending clients in all areas of employment law, with a particular focus on California and federal wage and hour class, collective and representative actions. Some of her successes in defending employers in California’s unique and complex wage and hour landscape include obtaining early dismissal and defeating class certification. Ms. Mak also prides herself on being a strategic partner to clients, regularly advising them on a variety of day-to-day labor and employment issues involving state and federal wage and hour compliance, discrimination laws, and myriad employment policies and procedures.
