Biography

Theresa Mak is a Principal in the San Francisco, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She defends and counsels employers in a variety of employment-related matters in state and federal courts as well as before state and federal administrative agencies.

Ms. Mak regularly defends employers in statewide and nationwide wage and hour class, representative, and/or collective actions, including those brought under California’s complex and unique labor and employment laws. She also defends employers in single and multi-plaintiff actions. Ms. Mak regularly counsels clients on wage and hour compliance and litigation avoidance. Her prior successes include defeating class certification and obtaining early dismissals.

Before joining Jackson Lewis, Ms. Mak worked with national law firms in their employment law practices, specializing in California and federal wage and hour laws. While attending law school, she served as an extern with retired Judge D. Lowell Jensen of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
