Jackson Lewis' Hartford Office Names New Managing Shareholder

HARTFORD, CT (November 18, 2015) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Tanya Bovée has been named Office Managing Shareholder in Hartford, effective January 1, 2016.  Ms. Bovée will succeed Beverly Garofalo, who decided to step down from the position she has held since 2008 to focus on her growing practice.

“Tanya was a clear choice to take the reins in Hartford, given the exceptional service she has demonstrated in other key leadership roles – including Co-Chair of Jackson Lewis’ Asian American Resource Group and Past President and Current Board Member of the Connecticut Asian Pacific American Bar Association (CAPABA),” said Firm Chairman Vincent A. Cino. “She has strong ties to the Connecticut legal community and is well-known as a skilled attorney and excellent client advocate; we look forward to seeing how she will grow the Hartford office.”

“CAPABA congratulates Tanya on her elevation to Managing Shareholder and applauds Jackson Lewis for honoring one of the most talented attorneys in Connecticut by its decision,” added Daniel S. Jo, President of the Association.  “CAPABA is tremendously proud of Ms. Bovée, who exemplifies the very best of what it means to be a leader of the bar and who continues to inspire and tirelessly give back to the Asian Pacific American community.”

Ms. Bovée routinely advises and provides management training on all aspects of employment law compliance, employment disputes and personnel matters such as hiring, firing, performance management, internal investigations, and disability accommodation.  Ms. Bovée, who has an active litigation practice, also defends employers in OFCCP compliance reviews and oversees the preparation of affirmative action plans for employers around the country.

Ms. Bovée has co-authored several articles on workplace law issues for the Connecticut Law Tribune and the Connecticut Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Newsletter and also co-authored a chapter for the MCLE’s Connecticut discovery treatise.  She has been recognized by Connecticut Super Lawyers and selected for inclusion in the 2016 edition of The Best Lawyers in America©.  In addition to her CAPABA duties, Ms. Bovée is an active participant in the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity (past Officer and current Board Member), National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, Oliver Ellsworth Inn of Court, Federal Grievance Committee for the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and Connecticut Client Security Fund Committee.  She received her B.S. from the University of New Haven and her J.D. from Quinnipiac University.

“I am excited to assume the role of Office Managing Shareholder in January, and lead the team of talented attorneys in Hartford,” said Ms. Bovée. “I am fortunate to have benefitted from Bev’s leadership and look forward to building upon the strong foundation she built.”
