Allyson S. Ascher is an employment litigation and class action associate in the Orange County, California office of Jackson Lewis. Recognizing the importance of bringing enthusiastic, diverse and talented attorneys to the Jackson Lewis family, Allyson also currently serves as hiring coordinator for Jackson Lewis’ Orange County office. Previously, she served as co-chair of the Orange County office’s Practicing and Parenting resource group, helping lawyer-parents at Jackson Lewis balance work and childcare obligations.

When it comes to litigation, Allyson understands that she is the voice of her client, and she makes it a priority to collaborate with her clients, learn about their business, and conduct a detailed factual investigation at the outset of a case. Allyson works tenaciously with her clients to develop assertive, yet cost-effective, defense strategies early on that are tailored to her clients’ unique business needs and goals for resolution. Allyson also believes in providing her clients with the tools they need to minimize legal risk moving forward. Allyson’s practice focuses on defending employers in matters involving discrimination, retaliation, and harassment, as well as wage and hour violations. Allyson’s experience extends to all phases of litigation and trial, including successfully negotiating settlements at mediations and serving as a member of a trial team litigating a high-stakes independent contractor misclassification case. She represents clients in a variety of industries, including hospitality, pharmaceuticals, retail and manufacturing.

Allyson was born and raised in Southern California, and has a deep appreciation for the diverse cuisine that can be found there. Allyson practically grew up in a restaurant, as her family has operated a restaurant chain in Southern California for over four decades. Allyson’s in-depth knowledge of this vibrant industry and the challenges faced by restaurant owners, combined with her advocacy skills, have allowed her to zealously represent the interests of various restaurant clients for the past several years through a unique lens. As a core member of the firm’s Restaurant Industry group, Allyson works with other members of the team to address the legal compliance issues faced by restaurant owners in California and nationwide.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Allyson’s practice focused on representing health care professionals and organizations in lawsuits involving professional negligence, general liability, and employment claims.

While in law school, Allyson served as the managing editor of the Nexus Journal of Law and Policy and was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. While an undergraduate at Chapman University, Allyson studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and completed an internship in Corporate Development at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, England.
