Asra Hashmi is an associate in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on employment-related litigation of matters involving discrimination and retaliation under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. She also litigates and advises employers, businesses, and educational institutions on compliance with and legal challenges posed by federal and state laws protecting employees and members of the public with disabilities under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Asra has experience representing clients through all phases of litigation. Her substantive experience also includes litigating corporate and general liability matters, and defending employers in workers’ compensation claims in Pennsylvania.
Prior to her career in the legal field, Asra worked in a Fortune 500 corporate environment for eight years. Her experience spans human resources, business-to-business sales, and government contracts, giving her a unique understanding and business-based approach to her practice.
During law school, Asra was the recipient of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Student Advocacy Award and Katie Elisabeth Westbrook Award for excellence in trial advocacy.
