Brian L. Hayden

Brian L. Hayden is a principal in the Jacksonville, Florida, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. who represents employers of all sizes. Brian helps C-suite executives, in-house counsel, and HR professionals navigate complex workplace issues with clear, practical advice. He responds promptly, thoughtfully, and decisively to solve problems, advance solutions, and minimize risk. 

In Brian’s counseling practice, he advises employers on employee-performance management, hiring and separations, leave and disability management, reasonable accommodations, wage-and-hour issues, workplace investigations, reductions in force, and best-practice employment policies. 

Brian also has an active litigation practice, defending employers in discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage-and-hour, leave, contract and other employment disputes. Brian regularly handles restrictive covenant, trade secret, and unfair competition litigation when key employees or business relationships are at stake. 

Brian is a graduate of Yale University, where he majored in philosophy, and the University of Florida, where he earned his law degree. Before becoming a lawyer, Brian worked on Wall Street in New York City where he traded securities on the Nasdaq Stock Market. He also worked as a United States Peace Corps volunteer in Poland. 

Mentoring and community service are also important to Brian. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida ("BBBSNEFL"), Family Support Services (“FSS”), and the Jacksonville Society for Human Resource Management (“SHRM”).
