Brittany Martin is an associate in the Chicago, Illinois, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She defends employers in a broad range of disputes that may arise between employees and employers. No matter the size of the business, Brittany works to achieve the best outcome for her clients. She has experience handling pre-litigation disputes and preparing cases for trial and everything in between.

Brittany understands that litigation can be stressful, and with a pragmatic and strategic approach to litigation she works closely with clients from early case assessment through discovery (including written discovery and depositions), motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. She has experience handling cases in both state and federal courts; in arbitration; and in administrative agencies such as the EEOC and Illinois Department of Human Rights.

Prior to joining the firm, Brittany worked at a Chicago-based firm doing both commercial and employment litigation. She also clerked for the Honorable Stephen H. Locher and the Honorable Helen C. Adams, both of the U.S District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. That experience provided her with substantial knowledge of Federal Rules and Procedure and strong instincts on how a legal dispute should move. She draws on this background to provide clients with clear practical advice tailored to their specific strategic goals.

Outside of work, Brittany enjoys exploring Chicago’s vibrant food scene with her partner, Austin, and spending time with their two cats, Rocky and Ollie. Be sure to ask her for a restaurant recommendation.
