Daniel Crowell


Daniel Crowell is a principal in the Nashville, Tennessee, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He helps employers navigate workplace issues, conduct layoffs, manage government investigations, defend against employment claims, and pursue and defend restrictive covenant, trade secret, and unfair competition claims. His approach is practical and business-focused. 

Clients enjoy working with Daniel because he relates to them and keeps their business interests front and center. Prior to practicing law, Daniel helped run family businesses and manage employees in industrial agriculture. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he led groups of Marines and deployed to Iraq.

Daniel strives to come up with creative employment law solutions that allow employers to do what they do best—run their business—with as little interference as possible.

Representative Experience

  • Obtained dismissals of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims filed with the EEOC, USDOL, NRLB, OSHA, and courts nationwide
  • Obtained and defeated temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions in non-compete, non-solicit, non-disclosure, and trade secret cases
  • Represented employers through government investigations and audits by the EEOC, USDOL, OSHA, NLRB, and OFCCP
  • Conducted internal investigations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour complaints
  • Drafted, reviewed, and revised employment agreements, restrictive covenants, severance agreements, commission and bonus plans, employee handbooks, and other workplace policies
  • Represented employers during transactions, including overseeing employment-related due diligence and negotiating employee leases
  • Advised employers during large reductions-in-force, including drafting separation agreements and OWBPA disclosures and navigating WARN issues
