Elyse L. Patterson is an associate in the Long Island, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C.

A career-litigator, Elyse focuses her practice on defending employers against wage and hour individual, class, and collective actions. To do so, she develops a thorough understanding of an employer’s business, to tailor functional solutions to meet client needs. Relatedly, Elyse aims to provide thorough advice and counsel on wage-related issues.
She has defended employers in federal, and state court, as well as against governmental entities, including unemployment audit hearings.

Elyse aims to protect employers.  The desire stems, in part, from growing up in a family-run engineering company, and witnessing the day-to-day difficulties employers face.

Before joining Jackson Lewis, Elyse worked for a plaintiff-side firm. The experience has provided her with useful tools to evaluate plaintiff claims.

Recent Favorable Decisions

Little v. Hartz Hotel Servs., Inc., 199 N.Y.S3d 841 (N.Y. Cty. Sup. Ct., Oct. 11. 2023) (obtained partial dismissal of tip credit claims and a ruling that appropriate damages for tip retention by managers is disgorgement of the tips, not invalidation of the tip credit).
