Justin S. Swartz

Justin Swartz represents businesses in employment litigation in state and federal courts throughout Florida as well as before federal, state, and local government agencies.  He helps management teams and HR professionals find practical solutions for their workplace challenges and is a frequent speaker on a variety of employment law topics.

Justin works with clients to reduce risk and minimize legal costs by giving advice on workplace issues.  If litigation is unavoidable, he vigorously and efficiently represents employers in claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, disability claims, medical and family leave claims, wage and hour violations, workplace safety violations, whistleblower retaliation, and other employment related claims.  Justin also represents employers in prosecuting and defending claims involving breach of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, misappropriation of confidential information, and related business claims.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Justin practiced commercial litigation throughout Florida in both state and federal courts, covering a variety of practice areas including business disputes, real estate, construction, employment, consumer claims, and intellectual property.  He also has experience working in the Florida Senate, Florida Office of the Attorney General, and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

While attending law school, Justin was Articles Selection Editor of the Florida State University Law Review, member of the Florida State University Business Review, and an IRS-certified volunteer for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program with the United Way of the Big Bend.

Justin was born and raised in Tallahassee, and enjoys running, Gator sports, and our community’s parks and trails.
