Biography

Rose Marie Plato is an Associate in the San Francisco, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.

Ms. Plato represents employers in a broad range of executive compensation and employee benefit matters including counseling clients on the tax law aspects of various compensation arrangements, including deferred compensation agreements, supplemental executive retirement plans, equity compensation plans, short-term and long-term incentive plans, and severance arrangements.

Ms. Plato designs, drafts, and updates employment, separation, and change-in-control agreements, qualified and non-qualified retirement plans (as well as fringe and welfare benefit plans), equity-based compensation plans and arrangements, and employee handbooks. She also researches and advises her clients on discrete employee-benefit compliance issues.

Before joining Jackson Lewis, Ms. Plato worked as an associate attorney at two global law firms, focusing on employee-benefits and executive compensation, and served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Bruce E. Kasold of the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
