Angelo G. Labate is an associate in the New York City office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Whether advising employers on the often challenging and employee-friendly regulatory scheme that is New York employment law or defending employers in a workplace law litigation, Angelo approaches each situation and set of facts with a holistic business-first mindset.

In addition to proactive counseling focused on state and federal compliance, Angelo works to protect confidential organization information by prosecuting and defending actions involving restrictive covenants, unfair competition, and trade secrets. Angelo leverages his previous experience in the commercial litigation department of a large national law firm and at an entertainment-focused law firm to approach employment and restrictive covenant issues with creative solutions tailored to each employer’s business.

During law school, Angelo served as an extern for a full academic year for United States Magistrate Judge Michael G. Gotsch Sr. of the Northern District of Indiana. Prior to law school, Angelo taught 7th and 8th social studies at a public school in the South Bronx and was a member of the 2012 Teacher for America Corps, an experience that he continues to draw on when advocating on behalf of clients for beneficial and amicable solutions.
