Juan is the office managing principal and litigation manager of Jackson Lewis’ San Juan office. He represents employers in high-stakes litigation before federal and Puerto Rico courts, including jury trials and administrative proceedings. With a proven track record in defending individual, collective and class action claims, Juan handles a broad spectrum of employment matters—from wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination and discrimination claims to retaliation and restrictive covenant litigation, among others. He helps clients proactively manage risk, ensure compliance and navigate the evolving legal landscape. Juan regularly delivers tailored training to help employers stay ahead of legal risks. He earned his J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico Law School and his B.S. from Cornell University.
Sara is a principal in the San Juan office where she focuses her practice on employment discrimination and wage and hour counseling and litigation in Puerto Rico’s federal and local courts. She has extensive trial experience, including defending employers in collective wage and hour class actions, and provides preventive advice, develops and revises policies, and delivers training on employment law topics. With more than 25 years of practice, Sara has built a reputation for combining litigation skills with proactive client counseling. She earned her LL.M. from Harvard Law School, her J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico Law School and her B.A. from the University of Puerto Rico.
Karina represents employers in complex workplace law matters in the San Juan office. She regularly defends clients in trials, appeals, and administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC and the U.S. Department of Labor. Karina also counsels companies on sensitive internal investigations, organizational restructuring, and issues involving harassment, discrimination, employee misconduct, leaves of absence, and reasonable accommodations. Karina frequently drafts employee handbooks, workplace policies, and mandatory protocols to ensure compliance with evolving legal standards. In addition, she provides proactive training to management and human resources teams to minimize workplace risk. Karina earned her J.D. from Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Law and her B.S. from the University of Puerto Rico.
